Charterhouse UAE Hiring for Freight Financial Controller at Dubai Full Time

​Charterhouse are currently working with a leading client, within the commodities trading sector, whose business coverage spans areas of production, distribution, supply chain and logistics. In line with continued regional growth, from their Dubai hub, the client is now in the process of looking to identify a Financial Controller (FC) for their freight operations and business entities.

About the role

With a reporting line to a Finance Director of Trading, this FC shall be geared towards the financial management, accounting and management reporting across their chartering transport and logistics operations; to ensure a fully documented process linking to payments and all ledger entries whilst also verifying all cost centres and invoicing allocations within the accounting and reporting systems.

In conjunction, this FC shall also be focused towards the budget and planning function; to ensure any variance analysis through strong financial reporting (P&L, margin analysis & cost control) for both operational and management support purposes along with any support of both internal and external audit processes and findings.

About you

Our client will look to recruit a professionally qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with at least three years of exposure within the commodities trading sector, plus logistics related activities, and an industry understanding to provide a knowledge and insight.

In conjunction, applicants shall be able to demonstrate strong analytical-based skills, across Excel platforms, whereby both financial modelling and cost analysis capabilities can be introduced to the overall controllership and governance required.

The successful candidate shall also be able to develop strong financial reporting tools; to ensure that any market variables, industry trends and changing prices are considered and factored-in to the budgeting and planning-based controls and reports.

The dynamic nature of this client and their market sector demands an experienced Controller; to ensure solid deliverables and an ability to manage senior management reporting lines and an FP&A capability for commercial support and financial stewardship.

From a leadership standpoint, applicants shall also be able to manage a small team of Analysts with both a technical and industry-based knowledge.
