Head of Business Development Middle East

YOUR ROLE

Train and motivate Sales Executives and Business Development Managers, manage them toward a goal of profitable revenue growth for the company, represent the company as a functional leader, coordinate the development of sales promotion and lead generation activities. The position is the key to strengthen the company`s overall market situation and improve our engagement with customers on both the freight side and also contract logistics. The person supports the growth strategy set by the senior management and head office and also creates individual plans in order to reach the financial targets.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Select, develop and coach a professional sales team to meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth.
• Develop and implement annual sales plans by Account Executive and Account.
• Implement the company’s sales process to establish a culture of consultative selling to customer’s decision-makers at all levels.
• Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large accounts
• Pursue identified business prospects, participating actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with appropriate personnel to define overall sales plans and develop products and solutions responsive to the customer’s business strength.
• Coach Account Executives to build effective staff relationships that enable them to respond quickly to emerging customer opportunities, and provide for seamless execution of the company’s business process that exceed customer expectations.
• Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the assigned account base.
• Collaborate with product leaders to align overall sales strategy with product focus i.e. tradelanes + NR targets.
• Participate in Global tender efforts by gathering information from local branches to improve responses
• Build all tradelane pipelines with potential so visibility of market volumes is available to help with strategic pricing.
• Gain market intelligence through various channels in order to have a better visibility on economic and business conditions.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• University Degree (Business Administration or Marketing as an advantage) or equivalent.
• 5-10 years’ experience in BD, at least 5 years in Middle East
• 5-10 years’ experience of managing functional teams
• Consultative selling skills.
• Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy.
• High level of financial and business acumen.
• Staff consulting and relationship building skills.
• Executive presence to influence senior decision makers.
• Ability to tolerate stress
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Arabic speaker is an advantage.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and customers
