Under that mission, a primary goal for BCC is to provide financing solutions to support new aircraft sales campaigns with customers. This requires developing financing commitments to support airplane orders and deliveries from commercial banks, the U.S Export-Import Bank, leasing companies, or direct financing from Boeing. In this role, you will help serve as a key integrator and leader between many different business units and functions to help deliver on providing these unique and customized financing solutions for Boeing products. This position provides a unique and exciting opportunity to collaborate, influence, and lead across multiple business unit lines to ensure customer requests are met in a swift manner and to help Boeing win new customer orders.

BCC’s responsibility is to continue to seek and nurture additional pools of liquidity to satisfy the breadth of our customer’s capital structures. This often requires taking into account particular regional and national regulatory requirements. To that end, the Product Development scope of this role will entail reviewing global liquidity pools and matching them to unmet or overly limited customer financing alternatives. These assessments will consider end-to-end financing, from pre-delivery payments (PDP) solutions to subordinated debt and long-term financing to ensure that new financing new products can be readily available to the broader Customer Finance team for deployment with our airline and leasing customers.

This leader will report directly to the BCC Vice President, Global Head of Customer Finance, but will also have dotted-line reporting to the BCC Managing Director, MEA for regional transaction purpose.

Key Relationships

The Managing Director will lead as a primary business partner supporting Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Sales by structuring financing solutions to ensure airplane deliveries primarily in the UAE, but with additional scope in the broader MEA region. Therefore, building and maintaining across BCA organizations will be vital. The key stakeholders in this role include senior leaders and working level staff within: BCA Sales, Revenue Management, Contracts, Legal, Marketing, and Boeing Global Services (BGS). This person must effectively interface on a daily basis with the BCA Sales Directors and their individual Sales Team members. In addition, this leader will also have internal organization BCC stakeholders in which they will need to coordinate and effectively execute with that include: BCC senior leadership; the BCC Investment Committee; as well as functional support staff in BCC including: Legal, Risk, Pricing, Asset Management, and Contracts. On the customer facing side, the Managing Director must be capable of working together and negotiating with our airline customers, third party financiers and their respective advisors, appraisers and legal counsel.

As part of the Product Development role close interface with legal and finance teams both within and outside of BCC will be integral to successful execution of this mandate as well internal sales and risk groups to ensure new products are fit for purpose.

Key Tasks & Activities

• Identify the strategies and execute successful BCA support, capital market engagement and policies to support aviation finance infrastructure and product development.

• Serve as primary liaison and contact for one or more country strategies in the region and main interface with Boeing International.

• Maintain excellent working relations with BCA & BGS and be considered a fully integrated member of the sales campaign teams.

• Possess strong knowledge of BCA product line.

• Provide early stage customer financial screening and guidance for BCA to assist in campaign evaluation.

• Sustain frequent contact with commercial and investment institutions that have the potential to arrange or participate in customer financing.

• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of government-assisted financing programs including Export Credit Agencies (ECA’s), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Private Finance Initiatives (PFI), Public Private Partnerships (PPP), etc.

• Position to minimize Boeing’s and BCC’s financial exposure in any customer finance solution by actively utilizing third-party sources of funding.

• Utilize the financing tools available to BCC and Boeing to ensure that customer financing solutions maintain appropriate BCC and/or Boeing economic returns.

• Build relationships with all functional areas supporting BCA, including BCA Sales, Contracts, Corporate Treasury, Legal, Accounting, Tax, etc., and integrate all functional groups into customer finance solutions.

• Effectively represent BCC to senior management levels of Boeing, BCC, BCA, BGS and the financial community.

• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Strong negotiation skills for leading the transactional activities.

• Ability to lead with influence across multiple functions and business units to help deliver financing solutions.

• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Experience with reporting key information and engaging with senior executive leaders (VP’s and business unit CEO’s).

• Knowledge & working experience with domestic and international financial markets and institutions.

• Knowledge of external institutions and legislation (Ex-Im bank, Cape Town Treaty, AFIC).

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence leaders at all levels.

• Public speaking experience.

• Experience producing investment packages.

• Experience working with or in the aviation and/or transportation industry.

Typical Education & Experience:

Typically 10 or more years’ related work experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.).
