Procurement Officer responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers. The Procurement Officer’s duty is to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses, so that the company can invest in growth and people.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
- Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
- Identifies and researches potential new suppliers
- Conduct procurement activities in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet business and project needs and participate in negotiations
- Resolve issues, monitor performance and negotiate contract variations through effective supplier relationships to enhance business outcomes
- Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the organization to meet its obligations and maximize business opportunities
- Maintain and update procurement records including order processing sheet (OPS) and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organizational compliance requirements
- Able to handle urgent and critical project deliverable commitments
- Should able to evaluate vender performance in term of quality deliverable, financially as well as to follow safety standard in accordance of established evaluation criteria and keep updated approved vender record / list.
Requirements & Skills:
- MBA / BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
- At least 5-7 years of prior experience in procurement, supply chain or logistics
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
- Project Budgeting and cash inflows/outflows
- Foreign Procurement
- International Logistics (Air & Sea)
- Incoterms
- National Logistics (Road, Railway & Air)
- Commercial and payment Terms
- MS Excel & MSGP hands on Experience
- Negotiation and Communication Skills
