Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. The AppleCare Localisation team is looking for a Language Lead for Arabic to manage the quality of localised Arabic content. To meet Apple quality standards and positively impact customer experience in Arabic-speaking markets, the Language Lead would not only translate, review and edit business critical content but also monitor vendor performance and quality metrics, guide vendor resources, manage Arabic linguistic assets and more. This is an amazing opportunity for the right linguist.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of lead linguist or copy editor experience with extensive translation, review/editing, or localisation experience, preferably at a localisation department in a global technology company or a localisation vendor.
- Accredited full fluency in Arabic. Full level of fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills both in Arabic and English.
- Extensive experience working with a team of linguists, cross-functional teams, and internal partners.
- A passion for quality. Must eventually take ownership of the localisation quality for AppleCare Arabic content.
- Knowledgeable in, and sensitive to multilingual and multicultural issues.
- Working knowledge of translation and project management tools such as WorldServer and bug tracking tools.
- Ability to focus and prioritise in a fast-paced multi-task environment with attention to details, and be creative at the same time.
- You enjoy building relationships, and you bring excellent a sense of collaboration. You view your colleagues as the potential source of the best answer.
- A passion for Apple products and services is a big plus. A good understanding of and expertise with technology is required.
Description
– Translate, review and edit for business critical content for Arabic in a manner that best suits the audience. In order to determine the best possible language, you will need to understand the nuances of a wide range of Apple’s businesses by building relationships and working with internal customers inside and outside of AppleCare. – Linguistic Asset Management for Arabic (i.e. TD, TM, Style guide) – Quality performance management of TEP and Evaluation vendors for Arabic – Close collaboration with the Quality Program Manager for vendor performance data analysis and improvement plans – Assess MT performance for Arabic and propose improvement opportunities – Close collaboration with Inclusive Language project team for Arabic content – Performing linguistic QA and runtime testing for customer-facing or internal systems, partnering with technology teams inside and outside of AppleCare.
Education & Experience
– Degree in applied linguistics, translation and/or equivalent experience
Additional Requirements
- Experience with customer support or service operations in a global technology company is a plus.
- Experience with MT, AI/ML, SEO, internationalisation, software translation or natural language translation is helpful.
- Experience translating and/or localizing Apple product content is useful.
