Job summary
AWS is currently hiring highly technical cloud architects to help customers and partners in developing technical expertise and capacity on AWS. As part of the AWS Professional Services team, our consultants develop proof-of-concepts, deliver technical workshops, and lead implementation projects. These engagements focus on key AWS Solutions such as multi-region networking, cloud-native enterprise applications, landing zones, and big data platforms.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about:

• Working on the cutting edge of a wide range of innovative AWS services
• Architecting solutions for scale, resiliency and performance
• Automating software deployment and configuration management
• Coaching customer and partner teams to adopt cloud best practices

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed.

Key job responsibilities

• As Senior Consultant, you will lead projects independently and also deliver as part of larger teams. You will work with customers and partners internalizing their context while using your business and technical skills to design solutions based on requirements and constraints.
• Work towards customer business outcomes by designing scalable solutions using AWS services, ensuring there is a strong connection between your technical deliverables and the customer’s business objectives.
• As an Amazonian leader you will embrace and apply the Amazon Leadership Principles, proactively engaging other teams to learn and share, and participating actively in the recruitment and onboarding of future team members.
• Collaborate with AWS engineering and support teams to convey customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps. Share real world implementation challenges and recommend new capabilities that simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of AWS cloud services.

About the team
The Professional Services team at AWS is responsible for assisting enterprise customers as they shift to the cloud by incorporating our services into their overall architecture. We work hand-in-hand with customer teams and AWS partners to provide deep expertise in the architecture, design, development, and implementation of cloud computing initiatives that result in real business outcomes. As part of our team, you’ll accelerate the adoption of our products all while advocating for the success of our customers.

• Experience in an Architect role or similar
• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math.
• Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3)
• Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
• Leading highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
• Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
• Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell)
• Configuration management using CloudFormation, Chef & Puppet
• Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
• Experience managing data center operations, including data assurance, monitoring, alerting and notifications
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
• Experience in MENA region
