Job Description
As an AWS Intern, you will collaborate with experienced Amazon Technicians to ensure that the Data Center’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing operates at 100 PERCENT availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers. You will be tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
The Engineering Operations team is Amazons front-line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. you will work with equipment that supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999 PERCENT uptime. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

Key job responsibilities
Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures
Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment
Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS In pursuit of a Bachelors Degree within a relevant field such as mechanical/electrical engineering *OR* a certification from a Technical/Trade school program (HVAC, electrician, facilities maintenance, or similar) with graduation in 2024
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying strong time management skills
