Job purpose :

To be responsible for the Daily Operational and Administrative Functions of the Hertz Vehicle Maintenance Department .

Job Description :

• To daily monitor the Maintenance Spend and publish reports reference to Vehicle Budget vs Actual Spend .
• To daily monitor and work with the controllers to minimize vehicle down time of the fleet ensuring this is kept to under 3% of Total Fleet, thus reducing the cost of replacement vehicles. Maintain a daily record of vehicle repair types and Vehicle Entry and Exit counts at the end of shift.
• To work as an escalation, point for internal and external stakeholders for any routine matters concerning vehicle maintenance and repair quality.
• To provide support and guidance to the Maintenance Controllers regarding all jobs pertaining to Vehicle Maintenance and individual development to enhance the productivity of the department..
• To review vehicle repair approvals for accuracy and negotiate quoted prices with vendors. Prepare cases for Vehicles Beyond Economical Repairs requiring Management Approvals.
• Oversee all administrative activity within the department pertaining to but not limited reference NOC’s, No Claim Letters, Vehicle Repair Histories, Work Order creation and Invoicing.
• Schedule weekly workshop visits to validate WIP status with vendors and work with vendors and team to deliver solutions to reduce downtime and enhance repair quality.

Quilification & Skills required :

• Education: Degree /Diploma holder in mechanical engineering and 5 years’ experience in a motor industry of which 2 years working in capacity of foreman / workshop supervisor.
• Minimum Experience and Knowledge: 5 years’ experience in the automotive workshop – Mechanical Division
• Job-Specific/Technical Skills required to complete the tasks: Good communication skills, Negotiation Skills, Planning and Organisation Skills, Customer Relations skills, Problem-Solving skills , Decision Making Skills , Interpersonal Skills and Team Building skills.
