Overview of the role

As a Store Manager, you will be accountable for sales performance, focusing on growth and profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, store operations, and the training and development of the entire staff. You will deliver exceptional Guest Experience and responsible for the Brand identity of your store.

What you will do

Team Management and Development

  • Develop the team to ensure they deliver the best service to every Client. Support them with consistent coaching, identify their development and training needs to tailor individual action plans
  • Identify, recruit and develop talents, secure succession plans
  • Organize the team in an efficient manner according to business needs and delegate responsibility
  • Set achievable yet challenging team and individual targets for the store; assess, monitor and manage performance to ensure these goals are achieved
  • Manage and motivate the team to drive the business: create a positive work environment, empower the team, encourage innovative solutions
  • Lead by example on selling and act as a role model

Client and Business Development

  • Lead and develop the business of the store, by cultivating a comprehensive and strategic understanding of it
  • Maximize the potential of all product categories and universes carried in the store, capitalizing on all available support (visual merchandising, training, clientelling, events, country office team…)
  • Build a loyal Clientele, leveraging all clientelling tools
  • Establish a client-centric mindset in store to ensure the highest level of customer experience
  • Be the voice of the store in your country by understanding business and local market to suggest actions and recommendations
  • Act as an ambassador in your local market, by proactively representing the Brand in relevant local activities (networking, PR)
  • Be aware of the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Put in place action plans to boost business and maximize product performance, leveraging visual merchandising, clientelling, training and team animation

Selling and Floor Management

  • Act as a role model demonstrating sales leadership to the team, support them with their own sales, foster cross-selling
  • Build and develop own Client portfolio
  • Ensure business opportunities are maximized through efficient sales floor management, being a visible presence and support and ensuring the brand standards are achieved

Operation & Administration

  • Ensure policies, brand standards, grooming guidelines and internal control procedures are communicated and implemented as per SOP
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and understanding of the system and reporting
  • Monitor store controllable expenses, supervise loss, asset protection and risk management and be accountable for inventory management
  • Liaising with mall management, store documentation as appropriate (daily reports, banking, refunds, exchanges, etc)

Required Skills to be successful

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Personal computer and detailed report analysis skills
  • Good command of business English (written and verbal)
  • Good computer skills (Outlook, Excel & SAP)
  • Strong commerciality skills and business acumen

What equips you for the role

Education:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree would be a plus

Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

  • 4 to 5 years of experience in retail and team management roles
  • Minimum two years Assistant Store Manager experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results and training and developing a team of individuals
  • Clear understanding of distribution strategies and how to impact bottom-line profitability through allocation analytics and execution
