Overview of the role :

Consumer behaviours towards car buying & aftersales services experience are rapidly changing due to technology driven trends and new disruptive business models. In Al-Futtaim we are on a journey to transform our businesses to enhance value chain and provide best in class customer experiences in the new mobility space.

The mission of the New Business, Strategy and Transformation (NBST) is to set the future strategy of automotive division and build the portfolio of the future by doing businesses that Al-Futtaim Automotive has not done before by exploring M&A, Joint Venture, partnership, and incubation opportunities in UAE and internationally.

The NBST department is responsible for assessing innovative business ideas potentials with a focus on new mobility initiatives, gathering market data, define target processes/businesses and formulize business cases leading into a corporate investment or a new business incubation. The last is achieved with agile cross-functional projects implementation – entire end to end process ownership from ideation to execution by applying agile framework.

The Business Development Analyst is responsible to lead the data and reporting of our opportunities funnel, identify new business models, assist in building the pipeline by developing market research studies and also support the execution of priority business ideas.

This role will work in a fast-paced, start-up like environment and collaborate with internal strategic partners by deploying agile methodology to accelerate experimenting and bringing new solutions to the market. Ideal candidate should be highly proactive and ownership/accountability behaviour, willing to explore innovative new business automotive projects.

What you will do :

Growth – Investment:

  • Provide research on Strategic Automotive Segments for Investment
  • Market sizing and growth forecasting
  • Profiling of potential target companies, Sector and Market Analysis
  • New product and service opportunities assessment
  • Build early view on deals/opportunities
  • Support Al Futtaim view on deals – internal synergies, commercial application
  • Data reporting activities for internal stakeholders
  • Management presentation materials

Incubation – New Business Model:

  • Create a funnel of future incubation ideas to develop and commercialise
  • Assist in continuous incubation ideation process to formulate new business concepts
  • Evaluate the initial market potential of the defined ideas
  • Support business cases preparation to achieve the sign-off for the projects
  • Manage project budget management (dashboard)
  • Support new businesses implementation
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define the roadmap and corresponding go-to-market strategies

Required Skills to be successful :

Innovation or startup environment exposure with excellent analytical skills

Strong interpersonal, team building and negotiation skills

About the Team :

As a Business Development Analyst you will be reporting to Head of Growth

What equips you for the role :

  • Accounting, Business or Finance University Degree
  • 2 year+ experience with market research and data reporting related activities
  • High-level understanding of business cases and P&L
  • Well-developed oral and written communication with strong ability to network
  • Highly motivated and attention to details and being accountable for own deliverables
