Purpose:
The Head of Projects Sales will be responsible for leading the business development team based in Asia and the Middle East to secure Power Projects in line with the business objectives or project materiality and EBITDA Delivery. Primarily focused on the Oil & Gas, Mining and Utility.
The role will be required to work effectively across the Aggreko organisation leveraging, the product, engineering and finance teams support to develop innovative and class leading solutions encompassing a range of technologies including thermal, renewable and hybrid solution, for both on and off grid applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive growth from developing a business plan and executing our strategy annually to achieve budget.
- Identify new sales channels, strategic partnerships & relationships with key external stakeholders in order to acquire new opportunities and accounts
- Actively contribute to brand awareness, promotion and relevant marketing campaigns
- Develop, lead, mentor and coach sales team members, with a focus on high sales performance and capability
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including project developers, customers, suppliers, government and external advisers to deliver strategic objectives
- Identify, evaluate and develop innovative commercial solutions to improve financial success and competitive offering to customers
- Lead the bid strategy through technical and commercial competence to scope and bid for long term power projects
- Lead the contract negotiation process with the Commercial Manager to ensure profitable outcome for the business, including managing key risk areas (commercial, operational, legal, HSE) and eliminate or minimize any potential exposure for the business
- Develop a detailed knowledge of competitive products and services in area of operation
- Develop an effective and collaborative working rhythm at a senior level, at times assisting and working alongside the MD
- Be prepared to wear “more than one hat” when necessary. Lead from the front and by example. Be fair and ethical. Maintain a proactive and positive team
- Presenting/Speaking at trade shows and conferences in the Energy Sector to help position the company in the marketplac
- Develop and maintain C-level customer relationships to help secure new work
- Liaise with the Director of Operations Power Projects to ensure costs and contracted obligations associated with jobs are being met.
- Seek and use customer feedback to improve the level of service offered
- Comply with all QHS&E policies and procedures. Manual handling techniques practice safe work habits following Aggreko Health, Safety and Environment policies, wear PPE clothing provided. Take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment
- Ad hoc duties as required by the business
Skillset and Experience required:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, including Postgraduate
- A good understanding of the Oil & Gas, Mining and Utility market
- Technical and Commercial competence in complex and long-term Power Projects
- Ability to lead Power Generation tenders’ contracts and manage C-level customer relationships
- A successful track record of leading sales teams in power generation/energy sector across the sectors identified
- A demonstrable track record of the successful execution of Business Sales Plans
- Expertise in delivery of development, coaching and performance management plans
- Demonstrable success in leading high value technical proposals, bids and tenders
- A proven ability to successfully lead direct report and cross-functional virtual teams
- Relevant experience in leading the effective utilization of CRM (Sales Force) systems.
- Experience with renewable solutions
- Strong Commercial acumen and proven Leadership of high performing teams
- Exceptional communication, influencing and negation skills
- Proven experience in presenting at trade show and conferences in the Energy Sector
- Strong ability to manage and drive a project plan / schedule within the team and with cross function support
