Job Purpose
Plan, Supervise and Ensure effective maintenance activities on Electrical automation network for the production facilities and distribution network at the Plant to ensure technical and operational safety, integrity and reliability of the assets and to minimize downtime of the facilities.
Facilitate energy Management team with necessary information related to Electrical energy utilization monitoring and trending through electrical automation systems
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
Plan and carry out Predictive / Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) programs on electrical automation systems to ensure improved system availability and power system reliability.
Maintain electrical control systems in line with PCN Security requirements. Coordinate with PCN security team during any breaches in PCN Security requirements and ensure system integrity
Conduct Internal Safety audit on Electrical Automation systems in line with PCN security compliance requirements and develop action plan for area of improvements to ensure compliance
Participate and provide professional expertise in the technological up-gradation of obsolete equipment and preparation & execution of Management of Change (MOCs) for modification in existing facilities.
Carry out detailed engineering; prepare scope of work, technical evaluation and execution for Capital, Extra Ordinary Maintenance (EOM) and Major Maintenance (MM) activities in electrical automation system
Review the existing maintenance practices and support implementation of innovative & modern methodologies for enhanced productivity leading to improvement in equipment performance and reliability. Ensure optimum utilization of the maintenance system for maintaining job history and data quality so as to retrieve quality information.
Prepare method statements for critical jobs, verify procedures and instructions, plus scope of work for contract jobs and service work orders to meet work requirements and standards.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)
Participate in technical evaluation of bids and inspection of materials on receipt to ensure specifications and required quality.
Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in the electrical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
Coordinate with Operations, and other Sections within Maintenance and Project Division to accomplish the work and subsequent implementation accordingly.
Initiates Plant Power Management System and process automation studies related to electrical network to solve problems and highlights specific performance improvement opportunities.
Supervise and controls the operations of the power system interconnection in close and continuous co-ordination with project representatives ensuring the availability of adequate information and control facilities in the control system is done according to sound Technical and Engineering Practice.
Ensures that all system design work is according to the Company’s standards, codes and practices, this includes subsequent implementation of some modifications and minor projects.
Arranges the review of drawings, documents, specifications, etc. of electrical automation work prepared for the Company by external agencies / project groups and issues comments as necessary.
Performs general review and appraisal of all development work produced by the power management systems Section to maintain an acceptable standard of work.
Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 3)
Coordinate all electrical automation system related affairs such as studies, interface data transfer procedures with other OPCOs staff and within the company.
Arrange for long term and short term maintenance plans for the electrical automation systems
Liaise with concerned parties for arranging risk assessment and support as necessary related to troubleshooting or improvement implementation in electrical automation systems. This also includes following up and supervises the installation and commissioning of the new projects related to electrical automation.
Advises and asserts as necessary on requirements related to troubleshooting on control of electrical equipment’s which are controlled through Electrical control systems (ECS, SCMS, IPCS etc.,) during faults or abnormal incidents.
Ensures that operation methods, check lists and procedures are maintained by which prime consideration is given to the safety, reliability, stability and security of the system.
Assist in the development and review technical coverage of electrical automation systems while ensuring compliance with various Technical Codes in Plant.
Review new and upgrade electrical automation system in line with technological upgradations and ensure compliance with various technical codes.
Develop reports on various automation related incidents as per the System Control Technical Code and Utility Commission’s Incident Reporting Guidelines.

Reports
Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management

Regular work related contact with concerned Section / Team Leader and Electrical engineers and supervisors as required, peer Professional staff and team members on matters related to Team / Section Policies and Processes, People, HSE and domain specific issues.
Maintenance Department Manager, Operations team, Electrical maintenance team, System engineering team, HSE Department. Other teams as appropriate to getting the job done.
External Communications & Working Relationships
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of plant machines, third part services providers for spare parts & specialist manpower and vendors.
Minimum Qualification
BACHELOR DEGREE IN ELECTRICAL / INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING OR EQUIVALENT PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
6 years of experience in maintenance activities for electrical equipment, within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
