Motion Business Controller – UAE

You will be working as a MO Business Controller and will be the part of Motion Business Area Service Industries division based in Dubai, UAE. In this role you will be responsible as a business partner, the controller makes a significant contribution to the sustainable success of the organization.

Your responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the Global Division and Business Area strategies and ensure profitable growth in the local market and translate strategy into business plans and establish measurable targets. Oversee the business planning and forecasting process for the area of responsibility and serve as the interface to Global Division CFO and evaluate the financial implications of various strategic decisions, build scenarios, and recommend actions.
• Ensure the development of performance targets in line with global targets and ensure achievement through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed. Focus on achievement of Total Orders (ABB and 3rd Party), Revenue Gross Margin, operating free cash flow, sales general & administrative expenses, and Net Working Capital, special attention on growth, margins, and net price realization by product, the customer required.
• In coordination with the Lead Business Controller (MEA) and Global Division CFO, establish and oversee processes and tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information. Ensure high quality of financial data and business information in line with defined standards and financial closing schedules and performance analysis, review & proposal for actions to management supporting business performance and enforcement of country and Division specific finance directives and instructions, enforcement of Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines, and if applicable filing as per local (legal) requirements.
• Ensure and support the accuracy and effectiveness of commercial processes, including market price positioning, quotation, sales price management, credit and collection management and identify, account for and manage potential risks in the country relating to frame contract agreements. Support effective implementation of sales, marketing and logistics activities in the country.
• Implement and ensure compliance with global and local standards, rules and regulations (including direct and indirect taxation, tools, policies and processes related to operations/project execution and share functional best practices and lessons learned across the ABB organization. Ensure transparency in financial reporting and disclosures and define and support the implementation of internal controls regarding financial and non-financial operations. In coordination with the Hub/Local Business Controller and Country Controller, responsible for assurance and overall oversight on the governance.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and process improvement such as with GBS (Global Business Services) and COE, etc and assess business risk exposure and define risk mitigation strategies to reduce the impact on business performance in own area of responsibility. Ensure risk management processes are consistently implemented in own area of responsibility and in the country.
• Support ensuring a safe working environment, continuous HSE improvement processes and integrity performance. Personally, lives the ABB values and Group standards and ensure that the area of responsibility of the Local Business Controlling is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies and support the Global Divisions to create, cultivate and develop talents and capabilities.

Your background

• Bachelors or masters degree in Finance, Accounting or similar related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of work relevant experience in a business controlling position and in financial reporting.
• Familiarity with a regulatory requirement.
• Advanced knowledge of MS office tools
• Good communications & presentation skills.
• Excellent level of English required.
