As a Mechanical Draughtsman, your primary responsibility will be to create detailed technical drawings and plans used in the manufacturing and construction industries. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce accurate and precise drawings. Your role will involve interpreting rough sketches, specifications, and calculations to translate them into detailed drawings, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project timelines. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are essential for success in this role. A diploma or certification in drafting or a related field is typically required, along with proficiency in CAD software.ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements.Prepare and review engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics.Perform calculations and analysis to ensure mechanical designs meet specifications.Modify and revise drawings based on feedback and design changes.Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary information for drawings.Assist in prototype development and testing processes.Maintain accurate records of drawings and revisions.Provide support during the manufacturing and assembly processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawings.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Previous experience in drafting and design preferred.
