Our Senior Copywriter is responsible for taking their client’s advertising brief and generating original copy ideas that grab the attention of the target audience. They are involved in creating a campaign that has an instant, positive impact on the consumer in order to promote the product or brand being advertised. This may include creating straplines, slogans, body copy, jingles and scripts that accompany advertising visuals. Copywriters will work in close partnership with their Art Directors and have input to the visual elements as well. A Copywriter at Ogilvy will produce big picture integrated advertising for our clients.
The Senior Copywriter will be part of a diverse creative team that is led by our ECD (Executive Creative Director)
The work will be deputised and quality control will be assessed by the Group Creative Directors.

Responsibilities:
- To be high conceptual, creating ideas that push creative boundaries
- To create great advertising campaigns with combined excellent creative judgement.
- The ability to lead a diverse junior creative team.
- To delegate responsibility and authority to the junior teams and to run an account on a day-to-day basis – i.e. interacting with other senior agency personnel, representing and selling the Agency’s point of view at client meetings etc…. However, he/she will ultimately be responsible for the work
- Deploying the strengths, weaknesses and contributions of each member of his/her creative team
- Being open to new ideas including those coming from subordinates
- To run and manage challenging account/s

PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Required Experience:
To have an HND, Foundation degree or degree in advertising, design or related subjects.
To have an established portfolio of recent copy work.
Essential to have previously knowledge of the industry and an understanding of the creative process in advertisement.
The ability to think creatively and communicate ideas through the written form (ie: scripts and copy).
This individual must have an opinion on directors and typography. It is also essential for them to have an eye for colour and mood etc
Experience of checking all content being advertised is truthful and complies with codes of advertising practice.
