The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Dubai Team supporting Abu Dhabi based projects, to play a leading role in the design and site supervision of some of the most exciting built environment projects in the Middle East and internationally. As a key figure in our established team of expert design engineers and technicians, and working closely with colleagues of various engineering disciplines, you will oversee the preparation and delivery of detailed engineering designs, conduct site inspections, review contractor submissions, and coordinate with our multi-discipline engineering teams for design support.
You will be required to manage your own technical input, as well as that of others, and to demonstrate your understanding of the role that your work plays in project delivery. You will need an understanding of the financial and commercial considerations that affect project delivery and be able to provide accurate and relevant reports on progress of the work against time and budgetary targets.
The Skills:
Having gained relevant experience in a mechanical engineering role within a building services consultancy context (ventilation, cooling and air conditioning, heating systems etc.), and experience of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines to take the lead on multidiscipline design packages and reports.
You have a solid understanding of the relevant industry codes and good practice and possess demonstrable knowledge of the financial/commercial aspects of construction projects.
You have experience overseeing the work of more junior colleagues, and have proven ability in producing low energy design solutions, carrying out site inspections and surveys, design development and crucially – you possess a passion for creative and intuitive design.
Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and programme management skills are essential.
