Job Purpose: To lead, direct and oversee the Central Services Ground Transportation Operations Control Centre in order to develop and evolve a dynamic efficient operation. Provide leadership and decision support to a team of Duty Superintendents and operations teams. Continuously refine the service levels, facilities and operational efficiency to meet current and future operational requirements. Act as a safe-keeper of regulatory and service standards within Central Services Ground Transportation operations. To design, plan, enhance and implement department goals and standard operating procedures which support the Central Services Ground Transportation operations, drive on-time performance and productivity and address every contingency. Job Outline: – As a cost-centre holder, plan the annual resource and expenditure budget for Central Services Ground Transportation Operations Control Centre. Manage and maintain resources and facilities to be cost-effective (Plan manpower and resources (both long-term and day of operations) to provide 24 hour shift coverage for UAE operations. Maximize productivity on shift by effective use of all resources in a cost-effective manner. – Act as the first point of escalation for Duty Superintendents during day of operations critical incidents to support in their decision making. Respond with authority to make decisions on behalf of Central Services Ground Transportation operations. – Follow up on long term operational issues arising from day of operations. Provide a wider focus across shifts to provide short, medium and long term planning for operational activities. Support the operation by resolving issues that impede effectiveness. Evaluate discrepancies and irregularities and take the necessary action to prevent recurrence. Identify operational trends, launch investigations where necessary, implement changes and recommend remedial action and follow-up to 3rd party contractors where appropriate. – Manage a team of Duty Superintendents and operational staff to be fully effective. Conduct regular staff meetings to provide strategic direction, coach, direct, monitor and motivate subordinates. Define, implement and progress department goals. Shape a service orientated culture which role models outstanding service to crew and other internal customers. Develop and monitor the quality and accuracy of briefings to engage and motivate Central Services operational teams. Proactively initiate build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders to ensure that Central Services Ground Transportation needs are met in the most efficient manner possible. Represent Central Services at a senior management level and utilize external relationships to get results, for example Police, RTA, Dubai Airports. – As a member of Network Control Centre, represent the Central Services Ground Transportation through business continuity and contingency planning. Initiate, manage and continuously develop the Emergency Response Plan, Serious Incident Plan and Disruption Plan so that in the event of severe disruptions the operation can effectively respond to any contingency. Drive and manage appropriate action and operational activity (including the co-ordination of call-out exercises). Champion any shortfalls on behalf of Central Services Ground Transportation. – Initiates and leads key projects. Participate in trials of processes and products. Act as operational expert and representative in Central Services Ground Transportation corporate projects for example SP2050. Partner Central Services sections where appropriate to ensuring that operational implications are considered E.g. Crew ground processes, baggage handling, and Flight Operations. – With support from the Central Services MIS Controller, analyze the daily operation and produce operational performance data for continuous improvement. Conduct high level reviews and critique the operation, refining procedures accordingly. Implement performance measures and reporting systems on operational performance. Re-engineer, design and introduce seamless SOP’s and systems in line with Total Quality Management principles. Design and introduce procedures which integrate with partner departments and are sustainable, for example on Cabin Crew Operations & Flight Operations. Ensure that these processes are trained and embedded across shift teams. – Drive a continuous improvement culture with the agility necessary to support the constant changes in demand, resource requirements and the resultant impact to operating schedules and service delivery. – Initiates and lead key business projects including in the participation of trials for new products and services developed by the company from time to time – Actively pursue the improvement of safety measures in all aspects of the operations in order to (1) Minimise the company’s potential exposure to accidents and potential liability for both staff and customers, (2) Comply with strict overseas consumer protection laws e.g. US Department of Transport, (3) Manage and protect the companys brand and image (4) Define and adopt best in class operating and safety management practices to optimize efficiencies and reduce health and safety associated risks.
Qualifications & Experience: Facilities/Maintenance.Other : 8+ Years Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : In a management related or Transportation & Logistics Aviation experience, preferably within a complex 24×7 operational environment, of which at least 8 years should have been in a management . Experience in international ground transportation preferred. Experience of regulatory frameworks and best practices in road transportation preferred. Knowledge/skills: Detailed knowledge of critical incident management and defining operational procedures. Detailed knowledge of road transport safety operating and operator practices/requirements in a mature market. Familiarisation of latest transport and fleet management technologies, their application and management on large mixed fleet operations. Other languages besides English: No Safety Sensitive Role: No
