Job Purpose: Direct and manage projects in the Route Planning section of the Planning Dept. These include the development of route studies, fleet requirement studies, preparation of revenue budgets, traffic and revenue forecasts and databases for the operating plan and the long-term plan. To ensure that senior management receive accurate and well presented studies and recommendations with which to make decisions on the strategic expansion and short and long-term development of the airline?s route network. Job Outline: – Direct the production of detailed evaluations for new routes that would determine potential profitability in the short and long term in order to provide the senior management with a basis for decisions on the new destinations for the network. – Direct the production of evaluations that determine the cost/revenue impact of altering existing services through either one or more of the following – re-routing the service, changing the aircraft type, timings, and adding additional frequencies on existing routes. – Audit the performance of new routes comparing actual performance against the company?s long term business plan. – Develop long-term passenger traffic and yield forecasts necessary for the preparation and regular updates of Emirates? Long Term Business Plan. – Manage the preparation of the annual passenger traffic forecast necessary for the preparation of annual revenue budget and to ensure that the annual revenue forecast meets the Long-term Plan objectives. – Manage and control the revenue budgeting process, ensuring that all concerned departments provide relevant feedback for timely presentation of the revenue budget to Management Accounts in order for them to submit their final draft budget to the Board of Directors for approval. – Manage the preparation and timely presentation of bilateral briefing material for International Affairs Managers’ negotiations with other airlines and government agencies. – Provide expertise in the evaluation of any external acquisitions or tie-ups as and when needed. – Manage reporting staff (including assigned Grade 9 trainees). Train them, appraise performance and identify and plan their development.
Qualifications & Experience: Commercial/Sales.Route Planning : 12+ Years Post Graduate Diploma (12+4 or equivalent) : A fully seasoned professional with broad knowledge of airline operations, macro and micro economic theories, statistics and research methodologies.
