Senior Roads Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Roads Engineer to join our infrastructure team.

As a Senior Roads Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, analysis, and implementation of road infrastructure projects.

Your role will involve managing and overseeing the engineering aspects of road projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and delivering projects within specified timeframes and budgets.

What will I be doing….

• Design and development of road infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed designs, and preparation of technical specifications.
• Conduct engineering assessments, analyse data, and evaluate road conditions to identify and recommend appropriate design solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate road design with other infrastructure elements, including but not limited to drainage, utilities, and landscaping.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards throughout road project design and construction phases.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical support to facilitate their professional development.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to effectively communicate project requirements, resolve technical issues, and address any concerns.
• Monitor project progress, review design changes, and manage risks to ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, contributing to the development of proposals and bids.
• Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in road engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

What will I need to be successful….

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
• Professional engineering accreditation (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) from a recognized institution is an advantage
• Proven experience in designing and managing road infrastructure projects, preferably within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Proficient in relevant software tools and design packages, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and road design software (e.g., MX Road, OpenRoads).
• In-depth knowledge of Middle East road design standards, regulations, and construction practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex engineering challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Excellent project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to work, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
