WhiteWater is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our team at our Dubai office! As part of our operations and logistics department, you ensure the smooth functioning of all aspects of our supply chain, including materials procurement, processing, expediting and delivery. You will be responsible for the administration of documentation for shipping and customs purposes as well as payment collection under Letter of Credit (LC) payment terms. You will use your expertise in procurement and logistics management to build better supply processes, create contingency plans in case of disruption, and ensure key leadership has up-to-date information regarding current conditions.

This is a critical role responsible for cost-efficient and reliable shipping solutions, liaising with Customs and other governing authorities, customs brokers, logistics providers, transport carriers, equipment suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers.

Able to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and complete tasks in a high-paced environment while maintaining a calm spirit under pressure.

YOUR ROLE:

• Plan, organize and coordinate the shipping of goods for Middle East projects ensuring smooth and on-time delivery.
• Nominate freight to logistics partners or transport carriers following the company’s approved processes.
• Prepare customs and shipping documentation in accordance with Customs regulations whilst also adhering to obligations under sale contracts and Letters of Credit requirements.
• Responsible for the regular reporting on shipping delivery to projects.
• Prepare shipping contingency plans and facilitate resolution of shipping disruptions or customs delays.
• Develop and maintain schedules of values to ensure the compliant valuation of shipped goods.
• Place purchase orders with approved suppliers in accordance with existing agreements.
• Purchase components, sub-contracted services and finished products to meet the customer’s quality, service and value expectations.
• Evaluate and manage existing and potential suppliers based on the principles of Total Cost of Ownership.
• Develop cost-saving initiatives in accordance with Strategic Purchasing Plan.
• Monitor progress of orders and expedite critical orders.
• Freight Invoices audit and reconciliation, resolve invoice discrepancies and make continuous improvements in costs and lead times.
• Support initiation of global sourcing programs, where applicable by identifying, sourcing and developing global supply partners.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Logistics staff at HQ in Canada to ensure on-time and smooth LC presentations for payment collection purposes.
• Timely and consistent communication on shipping arrangements with internal and external clients including transport carriers and other service providers.
• Main liaison with customs authorities in the Middle East region including administration of any customs RFI, customs entries and records, import/export licensing registration.
• Record retention of documentation for customs and other audit purposes (Invoice, Packing List, Certificates of Origin, Customs entries, Cargo Insurance Certificate, other as required).
• Follow company’s policies and procedures and ensure compliance with global Customs Agencies and other governing authorities’ laws & regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

YOU BRING:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in International Logistics or Global Supply Chain.
• Post-secondary education in either Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations, or College degree/diploma or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience organizing shipping for all modes of transport.
• Strong familiarity with global packaging & marking regulations, global customs regulations including required customs documentation for both the importation and exportation of goods.
• Strong understanding and working experience with the classification of goods within the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), country of origin determination, and valuation methods.
• Proficient knowledge of Incoterms and world geography.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills with an ability to demonstrate attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy.

• Project management and problem-solving skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Previous experience with the transport module in D365 can be an asset.
• Have flexibility in duty assignment and ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as necessary.
• Arabic language skills is an asset.
