Purpose / Objective:

The primary responsibilities of a Senior Technician – Seating is to support the Cell Leader in the assignment tracking and quality control of work being accomplished in the Seating cell.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct Tier 1 meeting with the team to identify daily priorities and task distribution.
• Drive efficient completion of assigned work from team.
• Identify issues with daily production targets in collaboration with team.
• Identify escalation items affecting daily production.
• Identify bottlenecks in Process.
• Work with cell lead to come up with solutions to potential Quality, EHS and TPM issues.
• Ensure smooth flow of gate 1 and gate 3 processes by effective allocation of resources, i.e. Manpower equipment and materials.
• Ensure effective management of material Kanban system to maintain right

Administration:

• Behave and take action for increasing employee engagement.
• Lead his/her team in accordance with Collins “Code of Ethics,” “Policy Statement on Business Ethics” and related policies and be role model to the team.
• Coaching and leading his/her team to be responsible for promoting actively an ethics-based business culture in his/her organization, ensuring that all associates are aware of and fully comply with Collins “Code of Ethics,” the “Policy Statement on Business Ethics” and related policies.
• Ensure that his/her team are trained in the standards of conduct articulated in the “Code of Ethics” and that policies, procedures, and other materials that explain in a practical manner what is required of employees are available or disseminated.
• Promote the usage of open communications channels for Collins compliance, business practices, DIALOG and Ombudsman programs.
• Support his/her employees’ development through performance and career management systems.
• Drive positive team culture through positive feedback and constructive improvement feedback.

Financial & Business:

• Support his/her department’s financial metrics within his/her responsibility area.

ACE / Environmental Health & Safety (EHS):

Full participation in ACE and EH&S programs.

• Achieve ACE objectives, participation in the ACE Operating System.
• Contribute to a safe & healthy workplace by:
  • Complying with EH&S requirements & safe workplace practices when performing duties with due concern for all other persons.
  • Support improvements to eliminate or reduce workplace risks.
  • Immediately reporting & responding as appropriate to any hazardous condition.
  • Communicate metrics/performance on a regular basis.
  • Reduce recordable and reduce lost time incidents.
  • Drive team towards maintaining a clean and safe work environment, focusing on clean as you go, safe start and daily work station cleanup.
• Ad hoc duties as assigned.

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Technical Diploma
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in performing related maintenance activities in Aerospace industry, preferably in an MRO.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and other repair manuals and technical data.
• Ability to learn on the job.
• Ability to work flexible hours and a willingness to assist other departments, as necessary.
• Ability to cross-train in other areas/departments.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form.
