Job Purpose
To develop, implement, manage and monitor effective English and Arabic local/regional press campaigns for COMPANY and COMPANY-owned events/exhibitions aligned with COMPANY strategy. Ability to write high-level Arabic content (press releases/articles) to support campaigns is critical.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Public Relations and Media Management (Corporate and Events)
1. Liaise with Director, Corporate Communications and PR agency to develop, implement and track strategic and aggressive PR plans to deliver international and regional exposure to COMPANY Corporate outreach and COMPANY-owned exhibitions and events
2. PR tracking and follow up with media to ensure strong coverage throughout the Middle east and Target countries
3. Management of PR agency, press conferences, road shows and media centres on and off site
Arabic Media/Content Management (Events)
1. Devise, write, edit and issue Arabic press releases and news articles in line with exhibitions and show deliverables
2. Regularly translate and Arabize English press releases into Arabic and effectively monitor and review translations done by agencies
3. Develop and maintain a strong/current list of Arabic and English local/regional press contacts (TV, radio, newspapers, online and print publications) covering the various industry segments across COMPANY-owned exhibitions
Arabic Media/Content Management (Corporate)
1. Translation and editing as required of the Arabic content on COMPANY websites, board presentations, brochures, advertisements and other marketing collateral as needed.
2. Devise, write, edit and issue Arabic press releases and news articles in line with corporate business unit deliverables
Media/Interview Management
1. Develop and manage a program of related Arabic press media interviews with designated spokespeople from the Exhibitions and Corporate departments.
2. Provide assistance to the CEO, SVP’s, and designated Arabic spokespeople on interviews from Arabic media during press conferences or events managed by COMPANY, as well as Arabic interviews for our corporate business units spokespeople.
3. Other duties as needed or required and deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
Operating Environment
1. This role requires ability to work under pressure with different business units of COMPANY and able to deliver quick turn-around times.
2. The individual should have strong communication skills, able to multi-task, attention to detail and flexibility with work hours during exhibition show dates
Requirements
Formal Education
1. Degree in journalism , communications or a marketing related discipline
Work Experience
· Minimum 5 years of work experience in journalism and/or public relations with specific focus on Arabic writing and PR.
Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Publisher) – Knowledge of Photoshop desired.
