Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead DB Architect to join our dynamic team. As the Lead DB Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and integration of Database as a Service (DBaaS) solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure the successful implementation and integration of DBaaS within our organization. Additionally, you will lead and engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

Very regular travel to a customer-site in Saudi Arabia will be required.

Responsibilities Lead Design and Integration: Drive the design and integration of Database as a Service (DBaaS) solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
Co-ordinate Integration with CMP: Collaborate with Cloud Management Platform (CMP) teams to coordinate the integration of DBaaS solutions with existing infrastructure and platforms.
Architectural Planning: Develop and maintain the overall database architecture strategy, including data modeling, database design, and schema management.
Technology Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and recommend database technologies, tools, and frameworks that align with business needs and industry best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement: Lead and engage stakeholders, including business owners, application development teams, and infrastructure teams, to gather requirements, understand business objectives, and ensure successful delivery of DBaaS solutions.
Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of database architects and administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Performance Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and caching techniques.
Security and Compliance: Ensure database solutions comply with data security and privacy regulations, implement access controls, and establish backup and recovery processes.
Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, data models, and integration guidelines. Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in database technologies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance database architecture and operations.

Skills required & Experience Proven experience as a DB Architect or similar role, with a focus on designing and integrating DBaaS solutions.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB) and understanding of different database models (relational, NoSQL, etc.).
Experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and integrating DBaaS with Cloud Management Platforms (CMP).
Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and schema management.
Familiarity with database performance tuning, query optimization, and caching techniques
In-depth understanding of data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and experience implementing appropriate security measures
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
