The Role
A qualified Accountant is required for a busy private family office located in the DMCC. The position requires those with UAE experience and a strong grasp of the complete financial cycle from ensuring the correct journal entries through to assisting with VAT filing and end of year audit preparation. Special consideration will be given to those who have exposure from within the shipping industry, 3-4 years of overall finance experience and those holding an additional qualification such as ACCA or CA. You will manage all invoices concerning AR/AP and ensure they are associated with the correct cost center, provide bank statement reconciliations, cash flow, and month end closing. There will also be an aspect of Project Accountancy to support the Finance Manager with the monitoring of budget spend, actuals and variants for the company’s investments. The Accountant will also provide all regulatory compliance with regards to VAT & DMCC filings and ensure timely delivery of both, with the support of the wider finance team. It is expected that the team will work collaboratively to prepare for the annual internal and external audits and help to implement any recommendations to mitigate future risk and implement the recommended controls. A high competency with excel and a logical and process driven approach is required to ensure deadlines are met and all data is 100% accurate. You should also be familiar with the collation of financial reports to be used in senior meetings and confident in the use of a varied range of ERPs for this purpose.

Requirements
Degree educated within finance (and ideally holding a previously mentioned associated qualification) you will have excellent communication skills in the English language and be able to perform under pressure in a fast paced and energetic environment.
