My client is a large player in the energy trading sector who are looking for a Trade Accountant to join them on an initial 3 month contract.

Your new role

This role will ensure that the business activities are supported, monitored and controlled at a high standard, a position of Trade Accountant is created within Middle and Back office team. The position reports to the Finance & Business Controlling Manager.

You will be responsible for:
Financial reporting of one entity within group
Preparing monthly Management Accounts with commentary
Monitoring and reporting of CAPEX projects (actual vs budget)
Supporting the newly appointed Operational Director on ad-hoc requests
Manage inter-company reconciliations
Margin calculations, reconciliations and collateral posting with the third party
Monthly reconciliation of inventory with third party reports

What you’ll need to succeed

In order to succeed you will ideally need:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in an accounting role functions in a commodity trading business (oil trading particularly, physical and financial)
• Well-developed numerical and analytical skills. Previous ETRM systems Open link, Right Angle and SAP (FI, SEM) experience would be an advantage
• Confidence, presence, resilience and determination to succeed in a dynamic and demanding business environment
