Job Description
- Participate in deriving and updating Dubai wide multimodal sustainable transportation system plan that can support the emirate growth requirements;
- Participate and managing transportation planning studies conducted by others including transportation master plans and traffic impact studies and make sure of aligning the results to Dubai strategic transportation plan;
- Participate in planning major road and public transit systems and networks in light of client strategies and goals;
- Analyze the results and issues raised by client entities that monitor the implementation of transportation plans and recommend required countermeasures;
- Identify various transportation planning problems and identify studies needed to solve these problems, draft terms of reference for the same “as needed”, and follow up the implementation of these studies;
- Conduct international benchmarking and studies related to different transportation planning
issues in Dubai, develop and present solutions as needed;
- Participate in urban and transportation planning activities and in the efforts of integrating land use and transportation plans in order to optimize the efficiency of the planned transportation system;
- Check planning layouts and engineering designs of public transport lines and facilities (stations and stops) to ensure meeting the integration requirements, First and Last mile, pedestrian and cycling plans and share modes.
- Prepare and present technical information and reports to a variety of audiences;
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Excellent knowledge in conducting and reviewing different types of transportation planning
activities, developing, and evaluating integrated multimodal transportation scenarios and
systems. Knowledge of the procedures of preserving and protecting ROW needed for
transportation system.
- Data manipulation and proficiency in the use of suitable software;
- Computer Literate.
