This exciting opportunity requires a dynamic and innovative professional to lead and develop Parsons’ expanding advisory services into technology, smart cities and urban living. The role will lead the delivery of a range of smart city and technology related projects and initiatives across the region and will demand a candidate with a track record of leading teams to deliver whole lifecycle projects from strategic advisory through to implementation.

An extensive knowledge of the smart city ecosystem and how it relates to sustainable urban living, improved quality of life and city operations is essential. An appreciation of trends and developments across the technology sector is required.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• As part of the Smart Cities project delivery organization, lead a range of smart city advisory projects across the region spanning urbanism, mobility etc.

• Lead the development of innovative approaches to deliver smart city advisory services efficiently and effectively across the Middle East.

• Manage project teams with a range of expertise, in particular to mentor junior staff into more senior roles.

• Work with the cross-cutting team of experts to identify and build relevant industry partnerships to support the smart city strategy; represent Parsons at relevant industry events

• Establish strong working relationships with other technical teams (master planning, sustainability, energy, water, etc) and related entities in order to build capacity and share knowledge/strategies

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

• Frequent regional travel will be required.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor degree in a technology / engineering related field

• Minimum 10 years successful experience in managing the delivery of various technology-driven advisory projects, with a special emphasis on Middle East region

• Demonstrable experience in delivering advisory services to governments and private clients including value assessments, technology reviews and providing roadmaps and implementation plans

• Has an awareness of global and regional industry trends in the smart city and technology ecosystems

• Proven ability to work in a customer facing and consulting environment

• Demonstrable experience working and leading multi-disciplinary and geographically distributed teams

• As a recognized professional in the smart cities industry, the candidate shall be the representative of Parsons at public forums/events; preferred candidates will have proven experience of publishing thought pieces, journal papers and possess extensive experience presenting at industry relevant conferences and events

• Identification of new areas of work, to keep ahead of industry trends identifying opportunities to diversify the portfolio and disrupt the industry

• Ability to prepare reports and presentations in a clear and concise manner and have the ability to pay careful attention to details

• Excellent project management and communication skills.
