Clyde&Co Hiring for Associate – Corporate Job at Dubai Full Time

The Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong corporate background, gained within a large-scale international or regional top tier firm. Due to the varied diet of corporate work we have to offer, applicants will have a broad background encompassing M&A and JV deals, foreign direct investment (FDI) and corporate structuring.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and draft legal corporate documents;
• Conduct due diligence and draft due diligence reports on legal matters;
• Prepare and advise on commercial documents;
• Support on M&A/JV deals, and assist with FDI matters;
• Work on broader commercial matters as required;
• Ensure all contribution to projects are executed in accordance with the firm’s methodologies, guidance, and professional standards;
• Contribute to the firm’s know how and precedents system;
• Participate in the business development activities of the corporate team; and
• Contribute to the growth of the team by ensuring client matters are worked on in an efficient manner.

Essential Skills & Experience

The ideal applicant will:

• be a qualified lawyer with a 2:1 (or higher) degree classification (or equivalent) attained from a reputed academic institution;
• 0-2 years post qualification experience as a corporate lawyer gained within recognised international law firms;
• be common law qualified or admitted as a solicitor within a commonwealth jurisdiction;
• draft structurally consistent and clear legal documents in English
• possess prior experience of working within the Middle East region would be viewed as an advantage
• fluency in Arabic (written and spoken) ideal, but not essential
• have a genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the Middle East
• have a mature and flexible personality; use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
• be able to work well autonomously and as part of a larger team;
• communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience; and
• be a driven, enthusiastic and flexible team player.
