Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Energy Engineer to join our award-winning team based in the United Arab Emirates (this role can be based in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi). This position is responsible for managing projects and resources related to testing energy usage for new-built and existing buildings.
Responsibilities:
We envisage success in this role to include;
- Undertaking to build simulation software and operating related software tools (e.g., CAD, energy modeling, loads analysis, daylight modeling, HVAC design tools)
- Undertaking IES Virtual Environment software by utilizing all the modules
- Undertake detailed and in-depth analysis of energy consumption for both new-built and existing buildings.
- Delivery energy and decarbonization studies based on client-specific requirements and international green certification systems.
- Conducting energy audits and M&V Option D.
- Writing high quality reports for clients presentations and conformance.
- Managing projects and resources as needed.
Job Specific Competencies:
- Very good at writing reports associated with progress and site audit compliance associated both with environmental and sustainability/materials compliance aspects.
- Knowledge of advanced modeling tools especially proven experience of IES.
- Strong knowledge of LEED, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1 analysis, and building commissioning is desirable.
- Experience in doing daylight/sunlight assessments will be an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Python programming will be beneficial
- Clear and confident communication skills will be an advantage.
- The ability to work independently is essential.
- Good personality and a team player.
- Experience in completing meetings with project stakeholders would be an advantage.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 5 years work experience (with at least 3 years GCC experiene) partnered with a BSc/BEng/BTec in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. MSc in electrical and control systems will be seen as beneficial.
BEMP by ASHRAE, LEED AP, CEM, CEA or equivalent will be viewed favourably. Familiarity wih IES Virtual Environment Software is sought.
Bilingual communication skills in both English and Arabic are not essential but are beneficial.
