Job Purpose: To lead and direct the Emirates Group IT Operations Centre (EGIT-OC), providing leadership and decision support, ensuring that all EGIT-OC business units work in a harmonised, co-ordinated fashion, so that the IT operation is effectively managed. Effective recovery from disruptions and response to incidents are conducted efficiently, in a cost effective manner, and with business requirements maintained. Initiate, lead and direct the activation of the EG-IT Crisis Management process in the event of a major incident or disaster. The EGIT-OC core operational units include IT Service Centre, Monitoring Management, Job Management, Application Support, Network Support, Backup & Recovery Operations, and IT Security. Job Outline: – Manages and directs the activities of the EGIT Operations Centre (EGIT-OC) in order that the IT operation is fully monitored, and that any obstacles which threaten the ‘planned operation’, are responded to proactively as much as possible, thus mitigating any impact. – Manage and provide direction to the EGIT-OC shift supervisors, and other EGIT-OC staff ensuring that they deliver an operation, which achieves the SLM objectives, in a safe and cost effective manner. The recovery of the operation from both minor and severe ‘irregular operations’ must be achieved in the shortest possible time, taking into account all operational, commercial and logistical constraints (people, technologies and facilities). – Manage and continuously develop the EGIT-OC Business Continuity Plan, so that in the event of severe disruptions or disasters, the company is prepared for virtually any contingency, and EGIT-OC are able to respond in an effective manner, while delivering the highest levels of service. Ensure that a back up EGIT-OC location with access to all key systems is available, with contingency processes and procedures mapped out, established, and frequently reviewed. In liaison with the IT Continuity Manager, the plans must be tested at a minimum every 6 months and updated whenever required. – Conduct high level reviews and critique of the IT operational performance, acting as chairperson of the Daily Operations Meeting. Identify challenges and opportunities in daily operations, report deficiencies, identify and implement solutions for improvement. – Champion shortfalls in IT performance/delivery issues and ensure that relevant Senior IT Managers are involved and appropriate follow up initiated – Manage and continuously develop the activation of the EG-IT Crisis Management process, in the event of a serious incident or disaster, in order that the primary business retains the initiative, while the recovery process for the affected services is effectively initiated. – Undertake and manage agreed portfolios of additional responsibility that are designed to enhance and improve the overall departmental effectiveness. – Develop and maintain processes, procedures and checklists that ensure standard operating procedures are utilised by all EGIT-OC staff, so as to ensure consistent levels of quality and effectiveness, in all decisions and actions.

Qualifications & Experience: Information Technology.Other : 8+ Years Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) : Experience: 8+ years of which at least 3 years should be at a senior management level in IT, within a Production and Operational environment. Knowledge/skills: Thorough knowledge of all aspects of IT Operations Management and Control. Good understanding of Infrastructure technologies like servers, networks, databases, security management and end user devices. Comprehensive awareness of process related to Application Support, Service Level Management and other ITIL Processes to manage production environments. Other languages besides English: N/A
