Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• Within 60 days of employment, you will sharpen your technical knowledge, learn from your buddy, shadow your peers in customer / partner meetings, build your network internally and with the ecosystem.
• Within 120 days, you will take a more active role in customer meetings, deliver presentations and demos, articulate business outcomes, assess customer requirements, size and design solutions addressing their needs. You will also further deepen your knowledge through additional training and hands on labs.
• Within 6 months, you will be autonomous in being a technical specialist on SD-WAN & SASE opportunities and driving adoption and recurring business. You will have showcased strong and active collaboration with extended engineering and sales teams in the territory you support and be recognized as a subject matter in your domain.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

As part of the SD-WAN & SASE solution engineering team, you will

• Support our customers through their SD-WAN and SASE transformation as trusted advisor
• Articulate both business and technical benefits of our solution
• Present technical solutions, perform technical demonstration, and explain the use cases
• Build SD-WAN and SASE network design that enables VMware partners to make their customers’ networks simpler to manage, operate, and maintain
• Land and expand the size of the deployment, hence increase the recurring revenue and hit the sales targets
• Foster long-term relationship with partners, customers, and our internal teams
• Listen to partners’ and customers’ pain points and come up with creative ways to solve their problems, and bring the feedback to product team to continue improving our product
• Get to play with cool and cutting-edge technologies every day
• Present VMware vision, strategy and product roadmaps to executives and technical management
• Be resourceful and up to date on the market and competitive landscape
• Coordinate and respond to the customer RFI, RFP, and sales proposal
• Support the POCs, lab and field trials, and beta program
• Participate and present at roadshow and tradeshow, customer and partner training

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will report into the EMEA Solution Engineering Director of SD-WAN & SASE, Ray Wong.

Ray comes with extensive industry experience and was employee #1 for VeloCloud EMEA, prior to its acquisition by VMware. Ray is based in Germany and leads a team of solution engineers (SEs) across the EMEA region, specializing on SD-WAN & SASE for both Telco and non-Telco route-to-markets.

We are a team of solution engineers who are passionate about technologies, share a startup mentality, and commit to positive customer outcomes. We value teamwork and are always ready to help each other.

Where is this role located?
Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
