Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for an Applications Engineer to join our existing team within our Power & Industrial (P&I) Division. The Applications Engineer has responsibility for a project (technically) under guidance from the Technical Team Leader, from receipt of the client’s enquiry through to acceptance of a purchase order and handover to the Projects Team.

Previous experience gained in an Air Filtration business would be a major advantage for this role.

As we are an international business and this is a role with a European scope, we are taking a flexible approach as to where this position will be located. Our European hubs being: Cramlington – UK, Vitória – Spain, Gasny – France and Dubai. (Please indicate your preference when applying).

Please Note: International / Domestic travel may be a requirement of this role; therefore, a valid passport and the ability to travel is required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all technical aspects of tenders.
• Collaborate with customers and develop relationships with technical staff.
• Perform a detailed review of customer RFQs to finalise requirements and select/apply relevant systems and products.
• Prepare and support design reviews as directed by the Technical Team Leader and Chief Engineer.
• Provide acoustic calculations for tenders where necessary.
• Support sales staff in meetings with customers to present and review tenders.
• Prepare technical case studies and data sheets.
• Provide applications support to the project execution team throughout life of contract.
• Identify ‘continuous improvement’ ideas.
• Maintain an awareness of Filtration products.
• Follow safety guidelines and apply them in all aspect of work.

Person Specification:

Education, Qualifications and Affiliations

Essential

• HNC in an Engineering discipline or equivalent with relevant industrial experience.
• Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD certified user or professional

Desirable

• BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering (or other Engineering discipline)
• EngTech status or above with IMechE (or equivalent engineering body)

Completed qualifications from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Experience

Essential

• Demonstrable experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing company within a similar role.
• Comfortable working on a number of high value and multi-disciplinary projects simultaneously.
• Computer literate and able to use a wide range of software packages.
• Understanding of National and International standards associated with an industrial or manufacturing company i.e., welding, dimensional tolerancing, coating application etc.

Desirable

• Previous experience gained within the industry or similar industries i.e. Mechanical, O&G, Energy and Power Generation. .
• Experience of working internationally.
